Energy of Attraction
Welcome to the 21-Day Meditation Experience, Energy of Attraction. We are honored you’re joining us as we seek our true nature and discover our path to health and happiness. You will discover your soul’s purpose and create a life in which all things are within reach.
The Source and Goal of Desire
“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” ― George Bernard Shaw
Your true self is not only the beginning of desire, it is also the end, or fulfillment, of desire. This infinite potential, energy, and intelligence of unbounded consciousness is the real energy of attraction. Today we will discover that we don’t need to do anything, or go anywhere to access the energy of attraction. It is our own true self.
In today’s meditation, we will awaken this energy of attraction within, and harness its power to bring our desires to fulfillment. This activation of desire at its source sets the direction for our thoughts and actions to lead it toward its actualization. Attaining the goal of our desires brings an inner fulfillment and contentment that returns us again to our silent source of awareness.
My true self contains every possibility.
Ananta Swa Bhava
My Being is without beginning or end.
Welcome to Day 3 – The Source and Goal of Desire. The energy of attraction comes from your authentic self, that part of you that longs for more than just possessions or temporary pleasures. How can you tell whether what you really, really want, what your craving, is flowing from your true self? Well, you’ll know you’ve hit your sweet spot when your desires are more about being than doing or getting. When you allow your soul, your inner purpose, to be your guide, you put your life on a new trajectory.
One of the most powerful ideas I’ve ever heard came from Gary Zukoff, In the Seat of the Soul. He says, “When the personality comes to serve the energy of the soul, that is authentic power.” That definition of power changed everything for me. What it really means is finding a way to use your personality to serve what your soul actually came here to do.
It wasn’t until I was 43 years old was I gifted the opportunity to find myself…to find my purpose. It wasn’t until then that my journey and all the events during the first four decades of my life started to piece together like the pieces of a puzzle…and started to make sense.
When I was 43 years old I found myself in a very dark place. I was in the worst of my alcoholic disease. I was hitting my bottom and, although, taking my own life hardly ever crossed my mind, I was doing that on a daily basis. You see, I was a daily drinker. I was a functioning closet-drinker and black-out drinker. I was a drinker who tried numerous times and in so many ways to go a day without having to take a drink.
My will power, my intellect, my college degree, my 4.0 GPA could not help me with this one. I was baffled. How could this happen? How could I get so out of control? I had the family (husband, two kids and a dog), our own home, two cars and a job. Would I not stop drinking for them and these gifts? No! They were all getting in the way of my drinking. Life was getting in my way of my drinking. That’s all that mattered to me at that time. That’s all I could think about!
So on that “special” day in a black-out, passed out, not coming to when the kids came home from school like so many, many times before, I didn’t come to. I didn’t get off the couch and ready myself for my swing shift. The red light on the answering machine was blinking. Messages of worry and concern were left on the phone machine for being a “no call/no show” at work.
Had I talked to my work in my black-out? I had to fish for answers. I hated fishing. I hated myself. I hated the way I felt and what I had become. I got no answers from my family so I had to call my boss the next day and FINALLY ask for help, FINALLY get rigorously honest. FINALLY! Thank you, God.
And thus began a whole new life for me. In the 28-day alcohol treatment program I learned about the disease of alcoholism. It made so much sense now why I could not stop drinking via self-control and self-will. I absorbed all this exciting new information like a sponge. And I was so relieved to know I wasn’t alone and I could finally have some hope. And then I found I had a purpose and was finally able to use my personality to serve what my should actually came here to do.
If you want to live with the greatest purpose, passion and contentment, your desires have to line up with who your true self really is…your soul self. When you are connected to that energy that is when you are unstoppable. It is the energy that works together with you to co-create the life you want.
You already have everything you need to begin manifesting the life you want. It all begins and ends with you lining up with the source of all things. So join Deepak now in connecting and reconnecting with that sense of awareness.
The energy of attraction is part of who you are. But which part? The answer lies deep in your awareness where your true self lies. Your true self is more powerful than any aspect of who you are because it links a desire with the ability to manifest the desire.
We’ve all experienced the difference between a shallow and a deep desire. Wanting to catch the latest hit movie isn’t the same as wanting to be a good person. Wanting a better car isn’t the same as wanting to find lasting happiness.
The secret of the true self is that the deeper your desire the easier it is to manifest it. This is because the entire circle of desire is inside you. The dream begins in the same place where the dream comes true. When your desire is frustrated, the circle is broken. This can happen for many reasons from bad timing and wishful thinking to hardships and obstacles in your current circumstances.
When I left rehab I did what was suggested…go to AA meetings. In the AA meetings I did what was suggested. Keep going to meetings, get a sponsor, work the steps, and be of service. And thus began a whole new spiritual life for me!
I am so grateful for Alcoholics Anonymous (please note that I do not represent AA but am a true believer that it works…for me). Having no religious background AA showed me the way to a Power Greater Than Myself, of my own understanding. AA also showed me that I don’t have to do this alone; that there are many like-minded people in the program who are ready and willing to help me succeed in getting and staying sober and ask nothing in return.
But working the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous is where the miracles really started to happen. This is where I got to know me and learn what makes me tick. This is where I finally get to be comfortable in my own skin and learn to love myself for the gift that I am. This is where I get to pay it forward.
And now with the aid of meetings, self-care, yoga and meditation my journey becomes more enriched. And I “get to” be on this journey without substance, obstacles, nor hardships, with a feeling of self-love and self-worth.
By meditating you draw closer to your true self. And when you fully identify with it you will fully experience the circle of desire. It will eliminate obstacles effortlessly. Yet even taking the first steps toward your true self will increase the energy of attraction in your life.
Every other means of fulfilling desire is more difficult because you find yourself running out into the world, struggling to make things happen, as you chase after the goal because it is separate from you. At the level of the true self no outcome is separate from you. You are the source and the goal in one.
Today I don’t have to run out in the real world for anything. There are no struggles nor goals to chase. Today I know that everything is perfect at this very moment if I just get out of the way. I have no control over people, places, nor things. But I have a Higher Power who does.
And if I turn my will and my life over to the care of God, as I understand Him, then I have protection and guidance to learn and experience just what I need (not what I think I want). I do my best with mindfulness and respect. I am not perfect but can feel good about the person I’m becoming.
Realize that the energy of attraction is intelligent. It’s different from other kinds of energy, like electricity or magnetism. The energy of attraction organizes the whole path from desire to fulfillment. Just as nature fills a seed with everything it needs to grow, your true self fills your desires with what they need to manifest.
In the Bhagwad Gita Lord Krishna says, “Curving back onto my own nature, I create again and again.” This is an expression of how desire remains in the self even when outer realities involved in bringing you what you want.
I love how more and more of the onion skin continues to shed each day making me more aware of who my true self really is. Thank you for being here and for sharing this journey with me. I urge you to leave feedback, if you wish.
With warmest aloha,

As we prepare to meditate together let’s take a moment to consider our centering thought, “My true self contains every possibility. My true self contains every possibility.”
Now let’s prepare for our meditation. Make yourself comfortable and close your eyes. Begin to be aware of your breath and just breathe, slowly and deeply. With each breath allow yourself to become more deeply relaxed.
Now gently introduce the mantra, “Ananta Swa Bhava”. This mantra awakens your truth to the infinite potentiality of your higher self. As you repeat the mantra know and feel the unbounded possibilities you hold within your own consciousness. Repeat it silently to yourself. “Ananta Swa Bhava”. With each repetition feel your body, mind and spirit receive just a little more.
Whenever you find yourself distracted by thoughts, noises or physical sensations, simply return yourself to silently repeating the mantra, “Ananta Swa Bhava. Ananta Swa Bhava. Ananta Swa Bhava”.
Please continue with your meditation. I’ll mind the time and when it’s time to end you’ll hear me ring a soft bell. “Ananta Swa Bhava. Ananta Swa Bhava. Ananta Swa Bhava.” Just mentally, “Ananta Swa Bhava. Ananta Swa Bhava. Ananta Swa Bhava.”
